Weather: Strong winds return in the morning, then back off, and then return after nightfall. More cold weather on the way.
Where: Cows (254) in EG-11. Bulls (18) in WG-4. Heifers (74) EG-5 to include a sliver of EG-8 (area in front of winter facility shelter). Calves (264) in LS-2-5. Calves came in early for water. I grabbed two bales of hay and led them into the new split in LS-5. I was planning to move cows, yet I noticed about 40 of the heifers in LS-14. Hard to figure how they got there without mixing with the cows. I trialed them back to EG-5 and put in a back fence to avoid this happening again. Returned to check calf water and heat the new split. Finally, got back to cows for a late afternoon split. Ended a long day feeding heifers their alfalfa supplement. Geese cruise overhead headquarters in the morning and crested wheat starting and early green up.
