Much cooler with strong gusty winds…Cows move into 4th split. I travel to Bozeman for 4.29 meetings. Ryan pulls out cows stuck in mud, buries truck, but cow escapes.
Warming then turning cooler with rain during the night (.7). Cows move into 3rd split in NG2. Bulls move into 3rd split in NNG3.
Cloudy with some wind and light rain in the afternoon. Cows move into next 2nd split in NG2. Wilson snipe heard singing mid-day near creek crossing to winter facility. Traveled to Winnett for ACES Land committee meeting-getting closer to buying the 54 ranch for a grassbank.
Uncomfortably chilly this morning, and then warming in the afternoon. Some wet and cold weather predicted for this weekend. Stored moisture recorded on the Mesonet is at around 30%. Cows moved into the first split in NG2. A few blue-winged teal and a couple of avocets were at the pond near the cell center.
Overcast and cool with light showers, with winds building in the evening. Cows move into 2nd split in NG3. Hood Phlox (Phlox hoodii) in full bloom indicating excellent growing conditions.
Cool with lingering showers. Cows move into 1st split in NG3.
Rain brings .6 inches of moisture. Too wet to move, everyone stays put. Still feeding every 3 days to finish off big square bales, that would likely lose quality of not fed until next season.
